Yellow Finches

On Friday we decided to invite some birds into our backyard. We bought a yellow finch feeder , food and a post. We placed it near the only little tree in the yard and also created a small watering hole that doubles as a bath. Stones inside the vessel make it shallow. Yesterday we had the first bird drop by and today two showed up. Not prepared for the little visitors, I  ran quickly, grabbed the camera and took this shot through a window. The photo is unedited.  I'm just so thrilled that these yellow finches appeared so readily that I wanted to share the event!

Today (Tuesday)the finches have added water from the little basin to their diet. Now all I need to do is learn to be ready with the camera!
