Dear Heidrun, I've been away from blogging for the whole of November and now the first week of December so I'm just now finding your 11/11/11 blog.
One of my favorite topics for exploring is World War I. I'm sorry that here in the United States no one hands out poppies on 11/11 as they did when I was young in the 1940s. Of course that was so much closer to World War I, just twenty-some years had passed since the armistice was signed.
Now, we are turning the calendar to 2014 and it will be 100 years since the war began. The war that truly changed the century. Peace at this time.
