Although it's merely +1C in the sun, our Ellie decided to sunbathe out on the deck. I couldn't resist the opportunity to catch this gal on her back just lapping up the UV rays so I grabbed my iPhone and clicked.
Can you imagine my surprise when I checked the shot? At the precise moment I snapped she yawned. What lovely sharp teeth she displays. I'm just glad she's a house cat and not a tiger!
P.S. I'm sorry that I have not been around lately but I shall be by this weekend to visit your posts. I have missed you all and can't wait to get back.

this is fantastic, love it and she does look very much like a tiger
my cat use to do this same thing. so vulnerable. must trust her humans.
As "Brenda" says, the fact that Ellie exposes her stomach to you and yawns so casually is a sure sign of her trust. I, too, live with an Ellie. She is a brindle.
Peace.
Glad to see you back, Heidi. We've missed you...
Don't you wish that we humans could relax like cats can? Great picture of your 'tiger'... ha
Hugs,
Betsy
This is quite a picture. Ellie certainly looks comfortable napping in the sun.
George thinks she looks comfortable. I think he's right, but I would say she comes closer to "looking" dead.
What a great shot! I love it when I get a shot like that and find a surprise!
I haven't been around much either! But, I'm on vacation for a week! Luxury!
Has she moved yet? Sometimes, when a cat or a dog is doing so really funny, I think about having them freeze-dried that way when they die.
Thank you for your visit to my blog, Heidrun. I got behind a couple of times myself! Sometimes life happens and blogging has to wait! :-) Darling cat photo!
