START OF 2015, A NEW YEAR

In only 33 hours a new year in my neighbourhood will commence. It is always fascinating how we all are on the same planet but because of our rotation and our journey around the sun we have developed ways to  create time mathematically and it means there are different time zones. Midnight will repeat at least 24 times until all zones have crossed into the new day and at this time the new year.
A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!!!!

My orchid blooms each year around this time even though it's winter and a bit cold outdoors. It does not follow a clock or a season, just a warm inviting indoor climate that makes it want to bloom. What a pleasure to see this beauty now.
MAY THIS NEW YEAR BE FULL OF GOODNESS DEAR FRIENDS!!!
Tomorrow we're not going to have the usual party because all our young folks are busy doing their thing. Instead it will be a quiet family dinner at senior in-laws. Buddy is going to be a bit sad but I'm hoping we can enjoy a game or two before the count down. And he can bring some hats and streamers along. It will be fun because we'll make it so.
And how about you??

I have a Christmas cactus, and no matter how much I abuse it, it always produces flowers for me at this time of year.
Happy New Year to you!

It has been years since I have welcomed in the new year. Somehow with out my attendance, it happens anyway.
Hope you enjoy the quiet celebrations and the 2015 will be a splendid year.

I hope your new year is off to a great start. We also had a quiet New Year's Eve, which was just fine. We're now enduring some cold weather, but I hope it won't stick around too long.

Betsy's surgery went well, but she has been in a great deal of pain today. Hopefully her knee will heal quickly.

Just getting back to you! What a beautiful orchid! Hope your New Year so far has been filled with blessings. No smart tv for us, in answer to your question, just a regular flatscreen. Our kids have a smart tv...don't think I will want one.

Hallo liebe Heidrun,
Christa

I really like this!! It's like a special smile to you for the New Year. Is that typical for orchids?
