Christmas Cactus

This beauty I found sitting on the floor of an entrance way. The lovely plant sits there greeting those who come and go. I wonder if many even noticed? Well I sure did and I took a snap.
May you all enjoy a Merry Christmas and have happy holidays. For us this year we are very blessed with all your good wishes. Thank you !

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

My cactus is totally uncooperative this year. Maybe because it was 60 degrees on the first full day of winter, and the robins were out looking for winters. Doesn't feel like Christmas to it!

Thia type of cactus was one of my mother's favorites. This and her "rubber plant" were the two green spots in our house all during World War II.

I look back at that time and wonder how we made it. Mom was supposed to get $3.00 a week in alimony but my dad seldom paid it as he didn't always have it to pay.

So we mostly ate what we managed to grow and some Sears and Roebuck chickens mom bought each year. They arrived at the post office and I usually had to carry to flat box home. When the box was opened, the peeps were thirsty and hungry and chirped a lot. Usually one or two were dead in the box. But that is how we got our meat and eggs each year or two.

Gorgeous Christmas Cactus... Mine doesn't seem to want to bloom this year... Sigh!!!! It has bloomed every year until this one. I guess I need to repot that plant... Oh Well---I'm enjoying your blooms..

Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Hugs,
Betsy

That's lovely. I never knew they came in anything but red.
