Keys to Jamaica

Our keys are easily stored on this cute souvenir. We're planning a trip. We've been to Mexico twice and Buddy liked both places. Would he enjoy himself in Jamaica? Is it safe? Have you been?

Friends brought us this. They went long ago. We are wishing to try Jamaica but the media has reported some  not so nice activities happening there lately. Should we believe them?

i have never been out of the USA, so no help from me, but this is not a good time of the year, we have 2 more months of hurricane seasons and it has been very wet and bad in the islands and still is.

Any one I know who has been to Jamaica says, "Stay at the resort. Don't explore elsewhere on the island." We have visited Abaco in the Bahamas a number of times and really enjoyed our vacations there.

I haven't been to Jamaica, but have been told that the resort areas are safe, but the rest of the island may not be.

I have a friend who is Jamaican, and she went back to visit when the worse of the problem was going on. She said it was no different than going anywhere else. Philadelphia has murders all the time, but you have to know which neighborhoods to avoid.

She went and came back safely.

Personally, I have no interest in Jamaica, but if it is your dream place you should go.

I've never been to Jamaica so I'm afraid I can't advise you. It would be good to ask around as there are probably many people you know in your sphere of influence who have been to Jamaica. I think it is probably like Africa. It can be unsafe but if you know where to go, where to stay, what to avoid, you will have a wonderful time. At least that is how it is in most places. Even here in Canada ;-)
